Is progress necessary for beneficial of society?

I don't think progress is necessary for beneficial of society, as there could be contribution but not progress and maybe following that, the contributer fail to succeed in his own dreams. Still, the society has benefited and has moved on.

Favourite character in Village By the Sea.

I like the character "Mr Sayyid Ali", because his role was very respectful and his words were wise and well spoken. In The last few paragraphs, he was in Thul and was watching birds. He was clever to appreciate birds just when Thul was going to be industrialised, and he knew how to appreciate and how to help others.

I would rather be a country rat

I would prefer being a country rat so that even i might not find any food to eat, but so long i still survive and save some food, money altogether, even the harder days, I can beat them. Unlike the city rat, who only know how to enjoy and does not plan for the future. The country rat, in the end, lived a good life rather than the city rat, who had to rely on the country rat to live.

Confession of a nerd

Me? Well, everyone calls me a nerd. I wear thick, round spectacles, and have a book in my hand, do not wear ankle socks, good results, and also, my bag is very high and heavy. Why can't we have a different personality, different styles? Whats wrong about being a nerd? I just want to study hard so i can have a good future, provide for my parents, and just concentrate on my studies? I admit, my studies have gone too far beyond good, and have caused friends' parents to worry about their children, thinking whether they have problems coping on with their studies while another child could do so well. That's their problem. They did not try their hardest, and maybe they are not clever enough, to prove their parents worthy. Why not we try to do our best in studies and earn a game ourselves, rather than only play games without earning it first? It's nothing wrong to be a nerd.
